Red Cross	Meeting Mondays Grades 8-12 The Red Cross Club is an extension of the local Red Cross region where you’ll be able to serve the community with your friends. Along with training and leadership development opportunities, you can choose mission-related activities in your community, while delivering lifesaving services of the Red Cross. You’ll plan and implement projects that can save hundreds of lives, such as blood drives.	Signups closed for 2024-25 academic year
College Essays Campus Ministry and rosary Club Art Club	Meeting Mondays Grades 11-12 Seniors and juniors are able to submit rough drafts of admission and scholarship essays and to engage in a writing workshop with Mrs. Schlesser. Students do not need to "join" this club; this is an available time. Meeting Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday Grades 2-12 Students need to attend once a week to maintain full membership, but all are welcome any day of the week regardless. Daily attendance is encouraged. Students don't need to know the rosary... We will teach you! Meeting Tuesdays Grades 6-12 Art Club will provide students an opportunity to explore, experiment, and practice with art forms beyond what is offered in the curriculum. You can also use Art club to spend more time on projects that were assigned in Art class if needed.	None Required
Help Save the Next Girl	Meeting Thursdays Grades 8-12 Help Save The Next Girl is a National Non-Profit Organization that aims to protect young women and girls from predatory danger. The group's goals are: Raising Awareness, Building Relationships, Advocating for Safety, Promoting Mutual Respect, and Sharing Urgent Information with Law Enforcement. Turn the Page	Meeting Every Second or Third Saturday Grades 8-12 Turn the Page is a program that strives to increase the literacy and knowledge of children in the Roanoke Valley. Since starting a partnership with Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in 2013, giving books to parents so that they can read to their newborns, On the third Saturday of every month, our volunteers go to each of these schools and give every person in attendance a free book and breakfast, creating an atmosphere for not only the students, but the parents to bond over a love of education and their community. Signing up for this club would mean committing time once a month on the second or third Sat. of each month for 2-3 hours.	Signups closed for 2024-25 academic year
STEAM Medico Creative Writing	Grades 3-5 Meeting Days: September 24, October 15, November 19, December 17, January 21, February 18, March 18, April 15 Like to be challenged? Problem Solve? Think outside the box? Then, STEAM Club is for you! Fee: $10 Meeting Thursdays Grades 8-12 We participate actively in endorsing legislation which augments safety practices in our communities. Meeting Tuesdays Grades 8-12 Tired of only doing academic writing like papers and timed essays? Want to create cool characters, tell silly or scary stories, and actually have fun while writing? Then this is the club for you! All Upper School students are invited to attend and write poems, short stories, and more! We meet Tuesdays after school in Mr. Broyden's room, US 305, from 3 to 3:45. Fellowship of Christian Athletes	Meeting - Wednesday Mornings Grades 6-12 Unite your two passions, faith and athletics, to impact the world for Jesus Christ. If you have a passion to help lead coaches and athletes as they grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ and His church, FCA wants to help you do that. Let's team up to see the world transformed by Jesus Christ. US FCA will meet in conjunction with MS FCA to grow in faith and to support RCS Athletics.	Signups closed for 2024-25 academic year
Key Club	Meeting Tuesdays Grades 9-12 Key Club is the oldest student led service organization in the country. Our purpose is to make our community a better place. We will do service projects both in school and in the greater Roanoke area.	Signups closed for 2024-25 academic year
Pickleball	Meetings Fridays Grades 8-12 From 4-5:30 at Virginia Western. Sessions will have brief instruction and drilling, followed by games. Students will be responsible for their own transportation. This club is for students who want to improve and play competitive pickleball.	Signups closed for 2024-25 academic year
Trivia Club	Meeting Thursdays Grades 6-8 A group that meets to play trivia games, answering questions on various topics. Members test their knowledge, learn new facts, and enjoy a friendly rivalry.	Signups closed for 2024-25 academic year
Art and Crafts Battle of the Books	Meeting Mondays Grades K-2 This club is limited to 16 students. Students will work on seasonal arts and crafts using various methods. We will discuss the seasons as well as the special things that happen during the different seasons. Meeting Tuesdays Grades 3-8 Students read books and come together, usually in groups, to demonstrate their abilities and to test their knowledge of the books they have read. The student competitions are usually similar to the TV series Family Feud or Whiz Kids styles of competitions.	Signups closed for 2024-25 academic year
Games and More	Meeting Mondays (2, 3, & 4 Mondays of each month) Grade 3 Students will play a variety of games, including board games, outdoor games, math games, card games, cooperative games, and computer games. It will be a more relaxing time for students to work, play, and learn together.	Signups closed for 2024-25 academic year
Orchestra	Meeting Monday and Thursday Grades 4-6 Students will learn how to play the string instrument of their choice (violin, viola, or cello) after school during orchestra. No period music knowledge is required to sign up for this club. Students will learn how to play the instrument from step 1. Students will need to rent their own instrument to join. Information regarding rentals will be sent out to families registered.	Signups closed for 2024-25 academic year
Cases for Smiles	Meeting Monday Grades 9-12 In the RC Cases for Smiles club, students will learn basic sewing techniques and learn how to make pillowcases. The cases will be donated to the pediatric ward at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. More information about the national Cases for Smiles organization can be found at casesforsmiles.org. Classics Club	Meeting Tuesdays Grades 6-8 Classics club is the celebration of all things ancient. In this club we study ancient cultures, languages, and history. We focus specifically on Rome, Greece, and Egypt. Join Classics club if you are interested in a more indepth look into Classical World through fun activities and projects. Archery Club	Meeting Tuesdays and Thursdays Grades 4-12 NASP® Archery Club is an activity that doesn’t discriminate based on popularity, athletic skill, gender, size, or academic ability. It’s a different kind of team sport. It’s open to any student. Its biggest supporters are professional educators. Teams come together around one thing: Archery. The National Archery in the Schools Program is an in-school program aimed at improving educational performance among students in grades 4th – 12th. And through it, students are learning focus, self-control, discipline, patience, and the life lessons required to be successful in the classroom and in life.	Signups closed for 2024-25 academic year
US Board Games	Meeting Mondays Grades 8-12 The board game club is a time and space for students to be able to play classic board games in a casual environment. Students are also invited to bring their own games should they want to play those as well.	Signups closed for 2024-25 academic year
Guitar Club	Meeting Thursdays Grades 6-12 Guitar Club is a relaxed environment for those who enjoy playing guitar with others. The goal is to have fun, learn, and share techniques. The only requirement is that you bring your own guitar(both electric and acoustic are allowed).	Signups closed for 2024-25 academic year
LS Drama K-2nd	Meeting Tuesdays We will be working on our acting skills using theatre games, improv, and movement. We will conclude our classes with a showcase the week of October 21st at RCS.	Signups closed for 2024-25 academic year

Nativity Play	Meeting - TBC We will perform at area churches in December and participate in the Roanoke Christmas Parade on Friday, December 13th. The rehearsals for this will happen in November. You can choose to participate in just the theatre after school class and/or the Nativity Play.	Signups closed for 2024-25 academic year
Little Saints	Meeting - Tuesdays Grades K-2 This club is for K-2. We will learn about the lives of different Saints in the Catholic Church and do a craft to inspire us to follow in their footsteps by serving others and living out the virtues of our faith.	Signups closed for 2024-25 academic year
Cantor Club	Meeting Tuesday and Fridays Grades 6-12 Cantor Club is a club for all students 6th - 12th grade that have any interest in singing and singing at Mass. The club will learn all of the specific Cantor lines, with the opportunity to sing them at Mass later this year! We will also learn one Hymn each week to perform with the Celtics Choir each Mass. Once or twice monthly, students will learn a stand-alone piece of music to be performed at Mass after Communion. As the year progresses, we will add more music into our clubs rehearsals that is not specifically for Mass. If you like to sing, want to learn how to sing, or have shown interest in singing at Mass, join us on Tuesdays & Fridays!	Signups closed for 2024-25 academic year
